"I tell my defender 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to keep attacking.

"That running is what I'm looking for. It's enjoyable."

Along with Cisse's 6 goals on debut, Stephen Ireland has scored 8 in three appearances for the side, while George Boyd scored five on his debut match and Lescott, a defender by trade, scored a triple in one match as a striker.

One opponent, 38, who plays on the flank for Collegiate OB, faced former Latics full-back Figueroa on the weekend - and had to explain his nine-year-old boy who Emile Heskey was.

"It was going round like a rumor they had these ex-Premier League stars," said Barrow.

"I think I was a little starstruck playing against him to be honest.

"Also Heskey came on and he's has over 60 English caps.

"We competed well for a solid 20 mins but then we had a player sent off and it was hard.

"We literally have not stopped chatting about it - I was phoning my mother and brother on the way home.

"The opponents were all dead sound, shaking our hands after the game - it was like facing a bunch of regular fellas.

"Now we can't wait for the return fixture."
